Hot and Flustered Shadowcast Code of Conduct

If you believe that the code of conduct has been violated, all parties involved will have the opportunity to be heard, ensuring fairness and equality in addressing the situation. Breaking the CoC will result in immediate departure from the Hot and Flustered Shadowcast.

1. Respect for Others

   • Treat all cast members, audience members, and venue staff with respect and dignity.
   • Avoid behaviour that may cause discomfort, offense, or harm to others.

2. Inclusivity and Diversity

   • Embrace diversity and inclusivity in all aspects of our performances and interactions.
   • Actively work to create a welcoming environment for individuals of all backgrounds, identities, and orientations.

3. Safety

   • Prioritize the safety and well-being of all participants and audience members.
   • Follow all safety guidelines and protocols established by the venue and the Hot and Flustered leadership team.

4. Professionalism

   • Always conduct ourselves in a professional manner, both on and off stage.
   • Communicate effectively and respectfully with fellow cast, including preshow act members, guests, and audience members.
   • For all rehearsals, shows, and public appearance where you are representing the cast, there must be no use of illicit drugs or alcohol. Exceptions are made for prescriptions.

5. Consent and Boundaries

   • Respect personal boundaries and always obtain consent before engaging in physical contact or interactions. Consent may be revoked at any time, and we ask that this is communicated clearly and quickly for the safety of all involved.
   • Listen and respond to any concerns or discomfort expressed by others regarding boundaries.
   • Due to the nature of the show, the costumes provided can often be quite revealing, and in the style of lingerie. No person will be forced to wear specific items of clothing. Any cast member can speak with the leadership team to find a costume that fits the needs of the character and what you are comfortable with wearing on stage.
   • While many outfits are considered revealing, nudity of any kind is prohibited at rehearsals, backstage, and performances at all times.

6. Teamwork and Collaboration

   • Work collaboratively with fellow cast members to achieve our common goals.
   • Value the contributions and perspectives of all team members.

7. Conflict Resolution

   • Address conflicts or disagreements in a constructive and respectful manner.
   • Seek mediation or assistance from Hot and Flustered leadership when necessary.

8. Representation of Hot and Flustered

   • Remember that our actions and behaviour reflect on the reputation of Hot and Flustered as a whole.
   • Strive to uphold the values and principles of the shadowcast in all of our interactions.

9. Compliance

   • Adhere to all applicable laws, regulations, and policies, including those of the show venue, rehearsal space, and Hot and Flustered.
   • Report any violations of this Code of Conduct to Hot and Flustered leadership.

10. Casting

    • All casting decisions are based on dedications and commitment to the cast and to rehearsals. Enthusiasm and engagement are key.
    • The leadership team track how many shows each person has participated in and attitude towards the role’s given. Someone’s last show will be given priority.
    • While not all casting might seem fair, and there may be disappointment with the role assigned, due diligence has been taken to keep things balanced from show to show. This is to ensure the most fair outcome for everyone.
